Biography

Australian indigeonous wisdom keeper, cultural educator, translator, and elder. The wife of the late Australian indigenous elder Bob Randall, she is a messenger of his aboriginal wisdom.

Soon after arriving in Australia in 2008 for the birth of her second grandchild, Barbara met and married the charismatic Indigenous Australian cultural educator and traditional custodian of Uluru, Uncle Bob Randall.

Her unique upbringing in rural Connecticut, USA, had unknowingly prepared her for her future life and work. Barbara grew up at Cuheca, a Culture and Health residential camp and school for children with special needs, founded in 1922 by her immigrant grandparents, now known as Waterford Country School. Barbara and her six siblings lived among ~1000 acres of farms, lakes, and recreational areas, immersed in a culture of inclusiveness, equality, and love. Barbara recognized this same ethos in Bob and his traditional way of being.

Once married, Barbara and Bob lived in Mutitjulu Aboriginal Community beside Uluru, within a family and ancient culture torn between traditional ways of harmony and the disadvantages of colonization. In the spirit of service, Barbara and Uncle Bob traveled interstate and internationally for teaching. They also opened their Mutitjulu home to visitors from around the world who wished to learn about Kanyini, the way of actioned love, responsibility, and belonging central to Bob's culture.

Before his passing in 2015, Uncle Bob entrusted his multimedia teachings to Barbara, instructing her to “get these teachings out to the world.” Barbara is dedicated to preserving and sharing his extensive legacy, contributing to raising consciousness and unifying wisdom keepers and people worldwide.
